Returning to his hometown for investment is the foundation for Dr. Tan Bingli's career to take it to the next level. In 1998, both factories in Hong Kong and Shenzhen achieved significant development, and the factories were no longer able to meet production needs and urgently needed to be expanded. In June of that year, at the invitation of the Kaiping Municipal People's Government, especially the then Secretary of the Kaiping Municipal Party Committee, Tan Sizhe, personally approached Dr. Tan Bingli and hoped that Dr. Tan Bingli could return to Kaiping to invest and build a factory. Everyone is well aware that the business environment in Shenzhen and Dongguan was much better than that in Kaiping at that time. However, considering a sense of hometown, after inspecting the entrepreneurial and business environment in our city, Dr. Tan Bingli resolutely decided to return to his hometown to invest and start business. Finally, he chose to develop in Chikan Town, which is currently the location of Yaqi Industrial Park. The original plan was to move Yaqi Plastic Machinery Factory back to Kaiping for production through leasing, with an annual rent of 400000 yuan. But later, with strong support from governments at all levels, continuous promotion, and close cooperation from all parties, they decided to buy land and build factories. They invested over 200 million yuan to build an industrial park covering an area of 140000 square meters. Kaiping Yaqi Group Plastic Machinery Mold Factory was completed in 1999 and officially put into operation in 2000. From 2001 to 2003, mold factories, plastic hardware factories, and blow molding factories were gradually relocated back to the park. Currently, Yaqi Industrial Park integrates the research and development and manufacturing of blow molding machinery, bottle molds, precision injection molds, and blow molding products, providing about 1000 employment opportunities for Kaiping. For many years, they have been high-quality taxpayers in Kaiping City, contributing to the economic construction of their hometown.

Among the numerous social positions, Dr. Tan Bingli feels honored to serve as the President of the Kaiping Association in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Kaiping Association was established on October 18, 1992, with Mr. Jay Chow serving as its first president. Afterwards, several other presidents took over. Dr. Tan Bingli was elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2000 and served multiple terms. At the end of 2010, he was elected as the president and has been reelected ever since. The Hometown Association is an important bridge for communication between Hong Kong and Kaiping in terms of economy, culture, and even charitable and public welfare undertakings. It is also a platform for Dr. Tan Bingli to repay his homeland.
Dr. Tan Bingli resigned from some club positions in Hong Kong after serving as the president of the local association, in order to free up more time to serve the local association. After taking office, he set about doing three beautiful things.
The first thing is to enhance the popularity of the Kaiping Association in Hong Kong. With the support of the directors and members, Dr. Tan Bingli has organized various activities to serve Hong Kong society, invited Hong Kong celebrities to participate in various gatherings, and strengthened the exchange of local talents in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. This has enhanced the reputation of the local association, greatly enlivened its atmosphere, and increased the number of members to over 1500, enhancing its strength. Since 2015, the Hong Kong Kaiping Fellowship Association has organized multiple visits from Hong Kong residents to their hometowns, strengthening the relationship between overseas Chinese and their hometown, guiding the younger generation of Hong Kong and hometown loving individuals to support the construction of their hometown and be enthusiastic about the public welfare undertakings in their hometown.
The second thing is to optimize the team structure of the township association. Fully leverage the wisdom and vitality of both senior and young members, especially the initiative and enthusiasm of young members, to make the leadership team of the Tongxiang Association a team full of innovation, vitality, wisdom, and maturity, integrating the ideas of the elderly, middle-aged, and young;
The third thing is to unite and organize the members to carry out various patriotic and hometown loving activities. While participating in the economic construction of our hometown, we should not forget to give back to society and our hometown's parents. We should mobilize our members to participate in various charitable and public welfare undertakings in our hometown, such as supporting the construction of rural water projects, rural roads, civilized villages, donating schools, improving educational conditions, and awarding scholarships to students. This has been highly praised by the Kaiping Municipal Government and villagers. Of course, Dr. Tan Bingli is not limited to organizing and initiating, but it is important to take the lead in action. In June 2001, Dr. Tan Bingli donated funds to build the Deng Yifei Martyrs Cemetery in the Hulong Village Committee; In April 2006, Dr. Tan Bingli funded the second Kaiping "Yaqi Cup" volleyball tournament and invited the Chinese women's volleyball team to come to Kaiping to compete with the Kaiping men's volleyball team. In September of the same year, donations were made to support the maintenance of Diaolou and villages in Kaiping City. They took the lead in donating to establish a teaching and learning aid fund, donated teaching equipment, and held the Kaiping Yaqi Cup chess competition for primary school students for many consecutive years....
Dr. Tan Bingli was deeply impressed by his contribution to the establishment of the Honor for Teachers and Education Award in Kaiping City. That was 2014, when the then mayor of Kaiping City, Wen Yan, brought Standing Committee Member He Wujian to Hong Kong and explained his intentions. Mayor Wen said, "Compared to other cities in the Pearl River Delta, the economic foundation of Kaiping is relatively backward, with a high turnover rate of many excellent teachers, weak teaching staff, unstable educational teams, and worrying educational conditions in his hometown." Dr. Tan Bingli asked, "What are the solutions to this problem?" Mayor Wen said: The Kaiping Municipal Government plans to establish the Honor for Teachers and Education Award, which will provide different levels of rewards for outstanding teachers every year to support and encourage teachers, retain talents, and hope to receive support from the Hong Kong Kaiping Association... "Dr. Tan Bingli felt particularly uncomfortable when it came to education. Looking back at that time, I only read for three years in school, which led to a lot of hardships after coming out of society. Today, do we still need to let children from our hometown lose at the starting line of education? No! Dr. Tan Bingli will definitely contribute to this matter, because education should be prioritized in the great cause of competing for thousands of years.
Dr. Tan Bingli returned to his hometown to support the education cause. Once the publicity was launched, this 1 million Hong Kong dollars really played an important role in throwing bricks and attracting jade. Hong Kong Kaiping Association members immediately responded and took action to support the education cause in Kaiping, and quickly sparked a wave of donations; Residents of Macau and overseas Chinese have also responded warmly and their enthusiasm for supporting public welfare undertakings in their hometown has never been higher, actively donating funds; At the same time, many enterprises and caring individuals in mainland China have shown deep affection for the development of Kaiping charity, especially the education of Xingshi Education, and have generously donated money. In just over three months, the Kaiping Charity Association has received over 11.5 million yuan in special charitable donations for respecting teachers and valuing education, with over 5 million yuan donated by the Hong Kong Kaiping Fellow Association. This "Kaiping City Respecting Teachers and Valuing Education Award" is awarded by the education department every In order to promote the vigorous development of education in Kaiping City, we will give commendation and rewards to outstanding teachers in the city.
